Only eight performances remain in Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater’s spectacular 50th Anniversary New York City Center season.

Join in celebration with the inspiring artists of Ailey during a special New Year’s Eve performance on December 31st at 7:00pm. Rich with a variety of choreography, the program includes Twyla Tharp’s explosive The Golden Section, George Faison’s new production of his sizzling Suite Otis, and Elisa Monte’s mesmerizing Treading. Audiences will rock in the New Year with Alvin Ailey’s soul-stirring Revelations, in a hand-clapping, confetti-filled finale—a truly inspirational and joyous way to kick off 2009.

The sensational Grammy Award-winning Sweet Honey in the Rock will perform live onstage with the Ailey dancers in Hope Boykin’s Go in Grace in only two more performances—January 2nd and 3rd at 8pm.

AAADT’s final performance on Sunday, January 4th at 7:30 p.m. will be an extraordinary showcase of the season’s new works in a “Season Highlights” program, including excerpts from: Alvin Ailey’s Blues Suite, George Faison’s Suite Otis, Mauro Bigonzetti’s Festa Barocca, and Revelations (performed in its entirety).
