Actor, Model, Entrepreneur: Jaye

Jaye: “The thought of getting on stage in front of an audience brought some kind of new nerves that kept me from doing it all, and this I knew, was my passion. But I literally woke up one morning, got myself in the gym and said to myself, just do it!

(With her business degree, she’ll know how to manage success).

Where She’s From: Gifted and talented, Jaye Taylor is a down to earth and dedicated young lady. She does it all-from modeling in numerous runway shows to acting for film and stage, to dancing with music artists for videos and live performances. She has always put 110% in any and everything that she does. “Yes, I have a busy schedule, she laughs, “but every talent that I have, I will do because it’s in my heart and if it will put at least one smile on one persons face, I’m happy.

Born in Danville, Virginia in 1982, Jaye was raised in a talented family. With her father, Ramsey James Boyce, gifted in playing guitar, drums and singing, and her mother, Marilyn Taylor, being a very talented vocal performer, it was inevitable that Jaye would rise to the top. If she wasn’t making up dance routines with her cousins, she was trying to reenact scenes from all of her favorite shows and movies. She had a quick response, at the tender age of five, when asked what she wanted to be when she grew up: “A superstar!

Where She’s At: The road was not always easy for the star-to-be and a few things were keeping her from doing what she was born to do. “I had terrible stage fright, and I was overweight, she concedes. “The thought of getting on stage in front of an audience brought some kind of new nerves that kept me from doing it all, and this I knew, was my passion. But I literally woke up one morning, got myself in the gym and said to myself, just do it!

And that is exactly what she did. Jaye has accomplished what most actors and models would take years to do. After her first photoshoot, her first runway show, video, movie and dance performance there was nothing stopping her. She has had leading roles in feature films such as “Never Too Late, walked the walk on runways in New York Fashion Week, nonstop photoshoots for various companies and endless videos—her last, the nationally acclaimed, The Fuzz Band.

Where She’s Heading: Her latest accomplishment—lead as Shemira in the touring stage play Sins of a Soul Sista, which for the first time has her trying her hand as a vocal performer. “2007 is Jaye Taylor’s year, says her manager Adrian Ber Narr. “She is focused and dedicated and most of all, loyal, which is something that is hard to find this day and time. She’s been dubbed “VA’s finest including by her fans. Her aim is to be simply, “the nation’s finest.

She’ll also know how to manage the rewards of success—she’s a senior at Virginia Commonwealth University completing her bachelor’s degree in business management with a concentration in entrepreneurship. Match that.
In the near future, look out for Jaye in 3 Fashion Shows; in production for the feature film “Transfer in which she plays the lead female, Veronica; Sins of a Soul Sista; Da Cribb Mobb Story with Jada Kiss, Styles P, Young Jeezy and many more—

Jaye’s Secrets Of Success: “I’ve always remained focused regardless of anything that may step in my path. Struggle is a good thing and something that I want to go through to appreciate that light at the end of the tunnel. I live, eat, and sleep this business everyday. God has a plan for me and I understand that. My faith gets me through. My family and friends are extremely important to me and their support also helps me get through those busy days.

Jaye’s Words of Wisdom: “This is to any aspiring artist: remember that the glitz and glam is only about 10%. You must put the work in to achieve what you want to achieve. This is definitely a lifestyle and it’s not easy. Never question yourself and believe in your talent. You can only trust yourself. And remember that negative energy is always positive. It simply means that you’re doing the job right. Strive for more than what the world expects of you.  And you’ll never let them down.
