Alexis Suarez: Winning Actor

Alexis first got the acting buzz while performing in elementary school and community theatre productions. His passion for the stage continued through college and grad school and till this day he continues to make his mark in numerous theatre and film productions.

Where He’s From:
Alexis Suarez, is a native New Yorker whose family hails from The Dominican Republic.

Alexis first got the acting buzz while performing in elementary school and community theatre productions. His passion for the stage continued through college and grad school and till this day he continues to make his mark in numerous theatre and film productions.

Alexis received his BA in Psychology from Siena College, his Masters in Physical Education –Sports Psychology— from Western Illinois University, and spent a semester in London studying at Regents College. 


Where He’s At:
His training includes “British Acting Styles,� “Theatre of the Oppressed� and “Acting On Set.�  Theatre credits include:  “Six Degrees of Separation,� “The Tempest,� “Northeast Local,� and “The Standards of Decency  Project.�  Alexis’s Film credits include “Photography and Shoot� (Commercial Comedy Central,) “Film 101� (First Instinct Pictures: winner of the Seattle True, Independence Film Festival, Most Indie,) and “Park Shark Chronicles (Tuxedo Fight Films.)

Alexis is a member of the Subterranean Theatre Ensemble where he has appeared in such works as “Go home� and “On the Brink,� written and directed by David Tianga, founder of STE, and in 2006 he co-produced and also starred in a revival of Laurence Fishburne’s “Riff Raff.� 

Special skills include Personal Training, Boxing Certified (Sparring, “Fight Choreography.�) Latin Dancing (Salsa, Merengue, Bachata,). He’s fluent in Spanish Dialects (Urban.)


The First Things Alexis Would Do As President:
“Promote more racial diversity in government, so that it would reflect the ethnic reality of this country. Provide free health care for everyone, and overhaul the educational system in cities that desperately need it.  The reality is that many of today’s schools are not able to compete and provide students with the real tools needed to survive and move forward in life.â€?

Alexis’s Favorite Three Movies:  “Star Wars Trilogy, Lord of the Rings Trilogy, and Usual Suspects.�

Alexis’s Words Of Wisdom: “To strive for professionalism and to not be afraid to take risks. This tends to lead to discovery about one’s self and takes you closer to where you want to be.�

Alexis’s Secrets Of Success: “There are a combination of factors which have lead to my success, but the most important are determination, persistence, and organization. Those three have been instrumental in my success as an actor and have forced me to continue to improve and diversify my body of work.�
