Multi-lingual beauty, Fatimaah Menefee, 22, was born in Houston. Her family moved to Cameroon when she was three and she returned to the US when she was 12.

“The lesson I learned from my dad was to just be me. I am very eccentric; do not try to be like the masses,” she tells The Black Star News.

Fatimaah attended high school in Maryland and this May will graduate from Texas Southern University. She launched her modeling career in 2003 by doing Model Rage fashion show. “I would say my first runway experience was so exhilarating–every step was so empowering.”

Where She’s At: “I see it going as far I as push it to,” she adds, “in fashion and I am shooting for law school and hoping to be more fluent in Russian.” Fatimaah, who also speaks French and Spanish, could be a diplomat-in-waiting.

“It is important because the stereotypes out there are sad and funny,” Fatimaah says, referring to the importance of combining beauty with intelligence. “I mean, I really love CSPAN and young girls need to know pretty should never equate to being empty in the head.”

Fatimaah says it’s also difficult for models who want to build their careers “the proper way” because they have to compete with “these ridiculous girls who do scandalous things to get on BET.”

So how does this young beauty prepare to step out?

“Burt’s Bees because I am a vegetarian and it’s animal-cruelty free, One by CK, I love Calvin Klein, it’s just classic, Mac for make-up, bonne belle lip gloss, I have been faithful to them since 10th grade,” she says.

A Short Fatimaah Story: “I believe in living for the day. I had a dream of blue clouds. The next day I went Skydiving. It was the most exhilarating, freeing experience of my life. I felt so uninhibited. After I told my friends, they were so happy for me and reminded me why they loved me so much. I just follow my own path and my dad was so proud of me.”
