[Our Model Of The Day]
Where She’s From: Tarniesha Nicole Brown, a Libra, was bon October 21, 1984 and raised in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, the eldest of four siblings. “The most important things I learned from my parents; never accept any less than I deserve, aim high, independence and believing in myself,” she tells The Black Star News.
Where She’s At: Tarniesha graduated from Boyd H. Anderson in 2003 and plans to resume college next year for EMT/Paramedic and Nursing. “I feel I was put on this earth to make a difference and helping others is what I believe to be my true purpose,” she says. “I have been modeling since March 2007. I decided to take it seriously after shooting with an excellent photographer. The feedback I received was crazy; full of support and positive.”
She’s currently in the early stages of her career, looking for strong and established representation. “Modeling is my passion and I plan on leaving an everlasting impression to this industry,” she says. “I am ready to break the mold. I want it all—fashion shows, calendars, commercials, print work, and launching my website just to name a few. I plan to model for as long as I can.”
“I feel it's important to combine brainpower and beauty because that’s what makes an individual unique,” she continues. “I remember my mom telling me when I was younger that ‘people will tell you you’re beautiful. You can look in the mirror and tell yourself that. But a woman with knowledge and drive is stronger than most.’ Combining beauty and brains is power that no one can take from you.”

Tarniesha’s Words Of Wisdom: “Learn to accept the flaws you possess, they may turn out to be your gifts to this world.”
Tarniesha’s Secrets To Success: “People can only do to you what you allow; stay positive and pray for strength, peace of mind, body and spirit.”

A Short Tarniesha Story: “I'm a very laid-back individual with an all around personality. I love learning new things. I won't knock it until I try it. R&B is my favorite preference of music. I tend to be indoors more than out. Egyptian art amazes me. I'm so drawn to its beauty. I write poetry; I feel it's an excellent way to express yourself and it helps relieve a lot of stress. I'm a big kid at heart Elmo is the bomb. I consider myself to be extremely hard working and focused on the goals I set for myself. I'm very outspoken, bold, humble, and a confident woman. I've been through so much already to be so young, and I don't regret any of my mistakes. Otherwise I wouldn't be the woman I am today: s-t-r-o-n-g.”
