Anothery Gay Movie

A little short when it comes to imagination, this gender-bending retread even goes so far as to recreate some of the original’s most memorable scenes, such as a kid getting caught in the act while masturbating into his mother’s pastry dish.

If you’ve seen American Pie, then you pretty much know what to expect of Another Gay Movie, except that in this raunchy, raw sex romp we have four high school grads making a pact to lose their virginity by penetrating a member of the same sex.

A little short when it comes to imagination, this gender-bending retread even goes so far as to recreate some of the original’s most memorable scenes, such as a kid getting caught in the act while masturbating into his mother’s pastry dish. It also features that one where an understanding father, ala Eugene Levy, has an awkward heart-to-heart talk with his son about the birds and the bees.

And instead of Stifler, this flick has its own party animal in Muffler (Ashlie Atkinson), a bull dyke who refers to her lesbian lair as “The Maxi Pad. Though this campy spoof is blessed with a clever dialogue, eye-catching candy-colored cinematography and a more talented cast than the coming-of-age classic that it’s based on, Another Gay Movie is still simply too derivative an enterprise for this critic to recommend very heartily.

Again and again, each vaguely familiar skit is only reminiscent of the original source material. Mostly likely to appeal to an audience that would enjoy seeing a typical teensploit where the script flips the sexual preferences.
