Where She’s From: Born and raised in Omaha, Nebraska, Fylicia Renee’ King has been honing her craft as an actor, voice-over artist, writer and producer, in the Los Angeles area for nearly six years.

In that period of time, she’s appeared on “The Shield”, “The Bold & The Beautiful”, the critically acclaimed film “Cryptz”, several independent short films, 12 stage plays, an MTV promo and two LIFETIME Network promos; as well as numerous National T.V. Commercials.

Where She’s At: As a writer, she wrote, performed and produced her 1-Woman Show, “Momma Was A Bad Mutha..shut Yo Mouth”, where she portrayed 15 characters. In 2005, it garnered her an NAACP “Best Lead Actress” Theater award nomination. In 2004, her 1-Woman show won the preliminary round of “15-Minutes of Fem “V” solo competition. Additionally, she completed a 6-week run at Masquers Cabaret, receiving rave reviews from the LA Weekly.
 
In 2003, Fylicia Renee’ King was nominated by the Coleman and Smith Theater Company for a “Best Supporting Actress” Award.

Where She’s Heading: In 2005, she formed her production company with her long time friend Justin Gelband, “The Other Side Of Money Productions”, in which she conceived, wrote and produced “D Street”, a children’s 30-minute Fitness/Variety show. She teamed up with Josh Duhamel (Star of NBC’s Las Vegas) to shoot a T.V. pilot presentation; which is currently being pitched to major networks. The format for “D Street” is EDUTAINMENT.

It’s packed full of hot musical guests, athletes, celebrities and dancers. Young people schooling their peers, using the hip-hop culture in a fun and hip way regarding issues affecting their generation (Diabetes Type II, Childhood Obesity & Heart Disease); as well as creating a plat form where young people have a voice.
