Amidst unimaginable violence and grief, these children sing and dance: they sing with vitality; they sing without fear; they sing in protest and in celebration.

[Cinema: Documentary]

"WAR/DANCE", the acclaimed documentary, winner of over 17 awards nationally and internationally, including "Best Director" at Sundance, opens in New York City and other major cities today.

War/Dance follows the historic journey of three children from northern Uganda--Dominic, Rose, and Nancy--and their school in the Patongo concentration camp, the first school from the northern war zone to make it to the finals of Uganda's national music and dance competition.

Amidst unimaginable violence and grief, these children sing and dance: they sing with vitality; they sing without fear; they sing in protest and in celebration. We will stay in theaters if tickets are sold on opening weekend. Do you belong to a book club, a movie group, a church, synagogue or mosque or any organization that might be interested? Get them to go together and have a discussion group afterward.

Or just grab your closest 10 friends. Whatever you do, make sure you see this film on opening weekend. Send reminder emails to your lists, call people in other cities where the film is opening. It is essential that we all show up to support this film.
