Gloria Lynne Hospitalized
Legendary Jazz and R&B singer, Gloria Lynne was hospitalized in Newark, New Jersey on September 11th at St. Michael's Hospital, located at 111 Central Ave. Doctors say Ms. Lynne needs time to recuperate so the music icon is not receiving visitors at this time. Although well wishes via card are welcome.
Miss Lynne was at home in East Orange, NJ with her son P.J. Allen. She was in the process of working on her soon to be released CD, "Rainbow," when she experienced severe pain in her back and legs. Her son rushed her immediately to St. Michael's where she was diagnosed with kidney problems. However her doctors remain optimistic for a full recovery.
Gloria Lynne has had a recording career that has spanned from 1958 to present day. She grew up in Harlem. She had several hits in the 1960s which included "I'm Glad There Is You", "Soul Serenade," "June Night," "Love I Found You" and her million seller signature song, "I Wish You Love." A lyric writer as well, Gloria wrote lyrics for “Watermelon Man” with Herbie Hancock, and “All Day Long” with Kenny Burrell.
In recent months, Ms. Lynne has been developing her Rainbow project as well as future network projects.
