Sean LeVert Dies

Sean along with his late brother Gerald formed the group LeVert with Marc Gordon in 1984, in Cleveland. They enjoyed a string of hits including Casanova in 1987 which provided cross over success for the group.

Sean LeVert, younger brother of the late Gerald Levert and former member of the R&B group LeVert was pronounced dead just before midnight Sunday at Lutheran Hospital.

According to the Cuyahoga County Coroner’s office, Sean LeVert’s body was taken to the hospital from the Cuyahoga County Jail. The cause of death is not yet known. Coroner’s spokesman Powell Caesar says an autopsy on Sean LeVert’s body will likely be done this morning.

Gerald Levert, a Grammy award winner, was 40 when he died in his sleep at his home in Newbury in November 2006. Sean LeVert was just 39 when he died.

The LeVert family has a street named after them in their native Canton.
