The Source Magazine Announces Nominations for Annual HipHop Awards

Kanye West Leads with 7 nominations; Ludacris has 6

The Source Magazine, the largest magazine devoted to hip-hop music, culture and politics, announced nominees today for their upcoming 7th annual THE SOURCE Hip-Hop Music Awards TV special to be held October 10 in Miami. THE SOURCE Awards is the only televised show for Hip-Hop, the music industry’s largest and most influential genre.

The Source Awards weekend consists of a celebrity basketball game at the Miami Arena, The Source Youth Foundation’s Hip-Hop Image Awards brunch, a series of official artist showcases on Thursday through Saturday nights, The Source Hip-Hop City New Product Expo, The Source Unsigned Hype National Championship MC Battle, a charity golf tournament and the main event-The Source Awards show at the James L. Knight Center.

The Source Awards TV Special airs from 8-10 pm, on Tuesday, November 30 on BET. There is a 30-minute Red Carpet Pre-Show that will air from 7:30-8:00pm on Tuesday, November 30. Corporate sponsors of the weekend include Burger King, Pontiac and Boost Mobile.
