Black vegan movement pioneer Brenda Sanders is launching Food & Justice, a weekly web video series and podcast. The hour-long weekly program will feature host and executive producer Sanders in conversation with activists, thought leaders, experts and influencers working on real world solutions to pressing global food, environmental and social justice issues.

The show is supported by #DefundBigMEAT, a grassroots effort to encourage strategic collaboration across all sectors of the global justice movement. Premiering on September 9, the show will be released weekly in video form on Youtube, Facebook, Twitch, and Twitter on Thursdays at 7 PM Eastern and released to all major podcast platforms on Fridays at 5 AM.

Guests on early episodes will include:

- LoriKim Alexander, Founder, The Cypher Organization

- Malik Kenyatta Yakini, Co-Founder and Executive Director, Detroit Black Community Food Security Network

“The Food and Justice Podcast is about spotlighting the people currently working on projects that have the potential to revolutionize our food system,” says Brenda Sanders, host of the podcast. “Food justice and food sovereignty justice work is often thankless work that goes unnoticed, but I want to make sure these people and their work are seen and supported.”

Award-winning activist Brenda Sanders is the co-founder of Vegan Soulfest, the world’s first and largest Black vegan festival, co-founder and co-owner of vegan food manufacturer The Greener Kitchen, and founder of Afro-Vegan Society. She is a sought-after public speaker, essayist, and interview guest.
