Nationally syndicated talk show host Rob Redding next month will showcase his “BIG BLACK ̶C̶O̶C̶K̶ CANVAS: SIZE matters – in ART!” art show in Chelsea. Queer Constructivist Expressionist painter Redding breaths new life into geometric shape with radical reductive smearing of thrown pain.

Redding’s art “Up/Circle Jerk”, “fissure” and “cock” plays up the mystique around the sexual situations at the show being held starting Sept. 4 – 22nd at NoHo M55 Gallery with a reception Thursday, Sept. 6, 5 to 7:30 p.m. “Themes of size as it relates to race are so important in the LGBTQ+ and straight communities, just as size and the debate around blackness, in use of color and participation by people of color, are important in the artistic community,” Redding said. “This show unapologetically tackles those themes.” Redding, a controversial talk host for years on SiriusXM, established a Constructivist Expressionistic (ConEx) style while living and showing work in Saint-Gilles in Brussels. This is where expressionism meets constructivism, he said.

The style blends psychedelic smearing with more figurative reductive geometric methods. Redding has been noted for his “trademark” ConEx style by NY Art Beat. He was compared to James Baldwin and art called “iconic” by New York art critic Per Larson. His first juried art show, which showcased “Circle Jerk” in NYC was covered by Out Magazine. He has also been listed in Art in America magazine and “Circle Jerk” has appeared in Art News, AM New York, Chelsea Now, Express, NY Art Beat and Gay City newspapers.

Redding’s art can be found at SmearPainting.com. Redding has a talk show in more than 20 markets and just rattled off his ninth best selling book, a biography entitled Out Loud. He has been featured in Upscale magazine; won an ADDY award; named one of “The 100 Most Important Radio Talk Hosts in America” by Talkers magazine; profiled as an “Industry Leader” in radio by Allaccess.com; and has received a proclamation from the Atlanta City Council for his work.

His award-winning Web site, ReddingNewsReview.com, is a leading source for black news on the Internet. He has won an award from the Associated Press and three consecutive Black Web Awards.
