Gifted has been working behind the scenes of the music industry for several years. Now as an acclaimed songwriter and producer, he is ready to break into the forefront of the New Music Movement—a collective group of young musicians who are uniting to resuscitate the life of true Hip Hop through their innovative beats and lyrics—as one of the industry’s leading male artists.

Born and raised in the Entertainment Capital of the World—where tourism, gambling, and conventions are primary drivers of the Las Vegas economy—Gifted Johnson has always been exposed to various cultural backgrounds. Gifted is one of seven siblings and has lived in Arizona, Chicago, Oklahoma, and Pennsylvania. His involvement in childhood sports has helped him find comfort in the midst of the pressures that come with adulthood. Gifted—who has already written or produced songs for renowned musicians such as NeYo, Bel Biv Devoe, Jagged Edge and many more—took a few moments to talk with the Black Star News. Through the exposition of his multi-layered individuality, we discover why his name speaks for itself.

“I always wanted to be a dominant figure in the National Basketball Association,” explains Gifted when asked about his childhood dreams. If Gifted hadn’t been adroit to the music industry, he would be an active ambassador for the youth. “My ideal position outside of the music industry is to be an advocate for children who suffer from various illnesses,” he continues.
