Democracy, Respect for human rights, and the Rule of law

The long-awaited official launch of the Freedom and Unity Front (FUF) takes place this Saturday in London.

Among the speakers at the event will be Prof. Amii Omara-Otunnu (FUF Chairman), General David Sejusa (FUF founder member, and former Head of Uganda’s Security Services) and other FUF leaders, activists and sympathizers.

According to the Press Department of FUF, delegates to the Launch are coming from many countries, such as: Uganda, Kenya, South Africa, Sweden, Norway, Australia, etc, where FUF has already established functioning chapters and cells.

Media outlets from as far away as Australia, the US and Uganda will be covering the event, and recordings will be posted on the FUF website and on you tube for those who will not be able to attend.

Freedom and Unity Front, describes itself as an inclusive political organization working for a new democratic, united, tolerant and progressive Uganda. In the invitation to the launch, FUF says that it is fronting the global campaign to transform Uganda into a nation of peace and sustainable development based on the ethical values of democracy, respect for human rights, and the rule of law.

The organization further adds that it is committed to play a constructive role in international affairs, to work to end the culture of impunity and to promote accountability.

The FUF launch event, will include the unveiling of the FUF Manifesto and the official communication about the leadership of the organization.

Due to the limited space at the venue, attendance is by invitation only, and all those invited are advised to confirm their attendance with the FUF press department.
