Dr. Beko Ransome-Kuti, a brother of the late Nigerian music king, Fela, stood for many causes and millions of people across the globe. He fought for democracy and human rights; he championed the cause of human dignity and good governance. He was hounded, humiliated and jailed by successive regimes in Nigeria, but he remained undaunted, unbowed and uncompromised till his death.
Dr. Ransome Kuti died on Friday February 10 2006 at age 66 of lung cancer.
