Emerging Clothing Designers & Global Education Initiative

Power couple Mariel Hemingway and Bobby Williams will co-host “Unity in Style,” an October 2 charity fashion show and live auction benefiting The Giving Planet, a non-profit that engages young people around the world to share their stories through digital media to foster a new level of cultural understanding.

The event will showcase the latest creations of designers EDUN, Jennifer Chun, Robert James, Emily Sinnott, Sucker Jeans, Taashki, Katherine Kim, Anna Lassiter and Lucinda Robinson. “Unity in Style,” which runs from 6 pm to 8 pm, takes place at the Metropolitan Pavilion in Manhattan. Actress and UNICEF Ambassador Téa Leoni serves as honorary board chairperson.

Styles on display at the event, which will feature photographs by The Giving Planet teens from Ghana, Kenya and Uganda, will include jewelry by Nancy Melet and silk shawl creations by Suzanne Silk. The Claudia Eliaza Quartet, a jazz ensemble, will provide live entertainment, and guests will enjoy a Ghanaian dance performance. Inspired by organic foods champion and author Hemingway, the event caterer, Great Performances, will offer organic appetizers.

Metropolitan Pavilion is located at 123 W. 18th Street. The event will take place in The Gallery on the 4th Floor. The doors open at 6 p.m. sharp and the show starts promptly. Tickets –advanced sales only– are $175 online at www.thegivingplanet.org/unityinstyle
