Otis Sallid Choreographs Dance At Major Abu Dhabi Film Fest

Abu Dhabi—-Choreographed by director Otis Sallid, New York-based dancers performed in the opening number of the recent Middle East International Film Festival.  

This world famous film competition captures the attention of top actors in the industry. Opening night luminaries included Antonia Banderas, Melanie Griffith, Sir Ben Kinglsey and Egyptian actor Abdel Imam.

The renowned Otis Sallid held auditions in early October in New York at the Dance Theater of Harlem for five days of intense rehearsals. The performances brought the cinema world to life through dance; they honored the culture and heritage of MEIFF’s home – Abu Dhabi and the United Arab Emirates.

This unprecedented invitation for any American marks a significant moment in the international cultural arena; an American choreographing these performances for one of the world’s most important film festivals in the Middle East is very significant. It also represents an opportunity to expand Sallids’s global vision to put together an exciting eclectic group of artists in one show.
