Using UN For Black Reparations

There is a United Nations document called the Victims Reparations Guidelines (please google “United Nations Victims Reparations Guidelines) that states that victims of such crimes do have rights to claim reparations for reparative measures.

[Op-Ed: On Reparations]

African-Americans should know that their elders and forefathers were victims of gross human rights violations; namely slavery and segregation.

There is a United Nations document called the Victims Reparations Guidelines (please google “United Nations Victims Reparations Guidelines”) that states that victims of such crimes do have rights to claim reparations for reparative measures. The compensation should be tailored to fix the scope of the crime.

In the case of Black people the scope of the crime was 500 years and great in magnitude; starting with unrelenting psychological abuse combined with devastating economic affects from withheld wages and never receiving credit or payment for their contributions, never creating financial institutions and worst of all left African-Americans without proper spiritual and cultural guidance. When calculated, the damage mentioned here will go way into the trillions of dollars. A debt that the US will take responsibility for because we have seen a number of apologies and resolutions past for actions of slavery.

Now is a good time for Blacks to organize themselves and prepare to make a serious revolutionary move to win reparations. The current manner African-Americans are using to discuss and debate issues has a hole in the bottom of its foundation.

It is a good platform in the media but lacking substance. They are allowed to have talk shows and conventions but they never talk about the three models of reparations (Integration, Repatriation and Sovereignty), which is the key for African-American freedom, liberation and independence. African-Americans have been forced to accept certain 501c3 practices and other programs that will never put them in a position to own their own land, businesses, neighborhoods and educational institutions, in order to make effective and lasting changes in the mental conditioning of their people.

In real terms Black people need immediate attention in the US Gulf Region and long term planning for infrastructural improvements in areas that are known as Black communities all across America. The only way Black people can find equality in society today is to develop solutions along these lines.

African-Americans do not get any respect today that is why they continue to suffer from the same problems from one generation to the next.

The factors in society that prevent Black people from having equality should have been removed long ago. Since the problems still linger and have been causing great harm to Blacks since slavery, Blacks should begin to think seriously about devising solutions that will solve their problems today and have great positive impacts for future generations.
