On Tuesday, November 25, SBA Administrator Maria Contreras Sweet will be joined by New York City Deputy Mayor Alicia Glen, NYC Small Business Commissioner Maria Torres Spring and off-Broadway Actress & Entrepreneur Catherine Russell to discuss the state of small business and to amplify Small Business Saturday.

In a new partnership with the National Restaurant Association, the SBA is promoting #DineSmall to highlight small businesses as the place to eat on the busiest shopping weekend of the year. They will also discuss the impact of immigrant entrepreneurs.

One out of every 10 American workers is employed by an immigrant-owned business, and these firms contribute over $775 billion to the American economy, each year. Bogota Latin Bistro’s George Constantinou and Farid Ali immigrated to the United States with the aspiration to reach the American Dream. America is the land of opportunity and attracts the brightest and most innovative entrepreneurs from every corner of the world. Join us as we highlight the importance of small businesses for America’s economy, and the positive economic contributions of our nation’s immigrant-owned businesses.
