New Jersey Nets’ star center Brook Lopez showed kids just how much fun books can be when he hosted a story hour for the Boys and Girls Club of Harlem to promote the importance of reading. Lopez will did an interactive reading of the children’s classic, "Where the Wild Things Are," and then took photos with kids who attend this family literacy event at the MetroPCS Harlem store.

Lopez has teamed up with the Boys and Girls Club of Harlem and MetroPCS to promote the importance of literacy and to encourage kids to read. As part of its literacy programs, MetroPCS donated nearly $5,000 worth of books to Boys and Girls Clubs in Harlem and Queens to benefit the Clubs’ Power Hour, an interactive after-school homework assistance program for kids ages six to 18.
