Award For Kang & Lee Exec.

As Executive Vice President and Managing Director, Cynthia oversees Kang & Lee’s Account Management, Creative, and Media departments. Early in her tenure, she established K&L Direct, a division of the agency which was the first in the industry to address the cultural and linguistic needs of Asian American consumers through direct marketing. Cynthia also founded Kang & Lee’s Summer Internship Program that introduces college students to the rewards of a career in multicultural marketing.

Cynthia Park, Executive Vice President & Managing Director of Kang & Lee Advertising, has been honored with the prestigious Asian Women In Business (AWIB) Corporate Leadership Award. The award was presented recently at the Ninth Annual Asian Women In Business Leadership Awards Dinner.
 The dinner, entitled “Celebrating Asian Women Achievers –Inspiring Tomorrow’s Leaders,” was held in New York City at Bridgewaters, located at the heart of South Street Seaport in Lower Manhattan. Vivian Lee, Reporter for WNBC News Channel 4, was Mistress of Ceremonies for the evening. The Awards Dinner recognized the outstanding contributions to the corporate and small business world by Asian women. The 2004 AWIB Corporate Leadership Award and the 2004 AWIB Entrepreneurial Leadership Award were awarded to women who have demonstrated business and corporate success, overcome racial, ethnic or gender barriers, and are involved in their communities.
 “I am truly humbled to have been honored with this award, and I salute Asian Women In Business for the inspiration and support it provides to thousands of Asian female executives across the country,” said Park. The 2004 AWIB Corporate Leadership Award was also awarded to Kathleen A. Rainey, Director, Associate Information Systems, Wal-Mart Stores, Inc., and Lili Zheng, Deputy Managing Partner, Deloitte & Touche LLP.
 The 2004 awardees join a distinguished list of past AWIB Corporate Leadership Award recipients including Jeannie Park, Executive Editor, People Magazine, Time Inc.; Sheryl WuDunn, Anchor, Author, and Pulitzer Prize Winning Journalist, The New York Times; Jeannie Diefenderfer, Group President, Verizon; Betty Gee Mah, Managing Director, Salomon Smith Barney; and Kyung Hee Choi, Managing Director, JP Morgan Chase.
 The 2004 Entrepreneurial Leadership Award, also presented, was awarded to Marissa Teves Beck, President, Advanced Professional Marketing, Inc.; Hosneara Malik, CEO, Syntho Pharmaceuticals, Inc.; Eleanor Wang Felbaum, Owner, Vacaville Pontiac-Buick-GMC; and Saori Kawano, President, Korin Japanese Trading Corp.
 “Cynthia’s marketing acumen and professionalism have played a major role in Kang & Lee’s success over the past ten years,” said Ann Fudge – Chairman & CEO, Young & Rubicam Brands, Kang & Lee’s parent company. “Her achievement provides an exemplary role model for diverse women in the advertising industry, as well as within the broader business community.” Young & Rubicam Brands supported the awards dinner as a key sponsor of the event. Proceeds from the dinner will go towards supporting AWIB’s 2005 programs and services.
