Black Economic Empowerment

The foundation provides educational scholarships to inner-city youth to assist their goals and pursuits. The foundation also provides mentorship programs and health screening programs to inner-city children and community residents. Proceeds of the Economic Empowerment Kick-off supports the programs of the foundation.

The Elliot Tomlin Foundation and Black Business Circle’s June 2005 Economic Empowerment Month kicked off with an After-work Networking Social Mixer at the Trey Whitefield School located at 48-60 Williams Ave. Brooklyn, New York. The evening included a reception, networking, cocktail, presentations, food, and raffle drawing. The Elliot Tomlin Foundation is a non-for-profit established to commemorate the life and vision of Elliot Tomlin through empowering the abilities of children, youth, and communities to accomplish their goals and vision. The foundation provides educational scholarships to inner-city youth to assist their goals and pursuits. Black Business Circle is based in Brooklyn, and the Economic Empowerment Month has previously drawn a number of partners, including SCORE, the business counseling agency which works under the Small Business Administration, The Local Development Corporation of East New York, Project Enterprise, and the US Small Business Administration. Other Upcoming Business Networking Events: Sunday, June 12: Economic Empowerment Day will be featured at the Brooklyn Christian Center with Rev. Friday, June 17: Black Economic Empowerment Banquet Reception will feature the awards presentations.  The reception will be held at Lorraine’s Place 8 Howard Ave. Brooklyn, New York. Saturday, June 25: Black Business Conference – “Black Dollar Power – Revisited”.  The conference will be held a t Brooklyn Christian Center located at  1061 Atlantic Ave., Brooklyn, New York.  The conference will begin at 9:00 am and end at 3:00 pm.  For more information please call 718.638.5483. Saturday, June 25: VIP Networking Social Mixer with buffet dinner, drinks, music, open mic and fun.
