Black Engineers Honor IBM
More than 3,000 Black engineers, entrepreneurs and invited guests from across the country were present as Marilyn Johnson, Vice President, IBM Market Development accepted the prestigious â€œOutstanding Corporate Sponsor Awardâ€? on behalf of the company.
IBM Corporation was honored at the recent 21st National Black Engineer’s Conference in Baltimore, MD.
At the Black CEO Hall of Fame Dinner and Gala, more than 3,000 Black engineers, entrepreneurs and invited guests from across the country were present as Marilyn Johnson, Vice President, IBM Market Development accepted the prestigious “Outstanding Corporate Sponsor Award” on behalf of the company.
One of the highlights of the 21st National Black Engineer’s Conference, the awards gala, themed “Building Blacks for a Better Tomorrow” also honored Black business innovators and entrepreneurs whose leadership and influence keep America moving forward.
Johnson was handed her award by Christopher Gardner, owner and CEO of Christopher Gardner International Holdings, whose life story, The Pursuit of Happyness, is a New York Times Bestseller and, most recently, a hit movie starring Will Smith.
The National Black Engineer’s Conference was the culmination of Black Family Technology Awareness Week, an annual, global public awareness program that promotes the value of technology in the Black community and its importance in the educational and career preparation of Black youth.
