Women may be the life force behind every human that walks the planet but, sadly, they are also a target for violence.

The U.S. Department of Justice reports that during just 1998 there were over one million violent crimes committed by intimate partners, with 85 percent of them being directed at women. Whether the crimes are committed by boyfriends, spouses, or those in the community, the problem of violence against women is very real.

“Women are frequently the victims of violence, even at the hands of police,” explains Mary Myers of the We All Have Dreams Foundation (http://weallhavedreams.org), located in Kula, Hawaii. “There are many people that need assistance because they have been victims of violence. Especially around the holidays, help is needed to assist these women through their situations.”

We All Have Dreams Foundation is a non-profit organization that was created out of the desire to help women needing assistance against societal abuse involving mental, emotional, financial and spiritual issues. Their mission is to assist victims, and their work depends upon donations. In an effort to raise money, they are holding an abuse-advocacy fundraiser, the “Win a DREAM Condo Week for Two,” for a police-misconduct victim assistance project. The drawing will be held on September 28, 2008. Through this fundraiser, they are giving donors the opportunity to gain the use of a vacation condo for two for an entire week, at participating resorts anywhere in the world.

“This is a chance to give a gift of a lifetime,” adds Myers. “For a $1500 donation to this cause, people will be eligible to win a week in a great condo. Where else can you make a tax-deductible donation and have the chance to get something back? The holidays are coming and, now more than ever, women need the assistance of the community. We All Have Dreams Foundation changes lives.”
