It’s Her Game 2

Deborah Williams eloquently stated for Black Star News, “I have been a part of the NBA lifestyle for a long time. My husband, Herb, played 18 years and is now coaching for the Knicks. Finding clothing to wear that expresses my love of sports in a way that fit my active and busy lifestyle was a challenge. I started by re-designing jerseys and varsity jackets to better fit the female body. Before long, I realized that Her Game 2 was not just about sports…it was about the Game of Life. It’s Her Game 2, and it’s time we started understanding the rules of the game and playing to win!â€?

Deborah Williams, wife of New York Knicks Assistant Coach, Herb Williams, debuted her follow-up to the Her Game 2 Collection, and introduced two new components to Her Game 2 operations, which are Talent Management and Productions.

Williams’ new collection blazed the runway at her Red Carpet Launch Party Tuesday, March 28th at Wish 26, located at 765 6th Avenue, in New York City. This Her Game 2 Fall Collection for 2006 included electrifying variations of washed denims, jeans, skirts and jackets. It also included new fitted and embellished tees along with buttery soft leathers in elegant colors to create the ultimate sports chic. This sexy collection, oozing of class and style for the renaissance woman, is inspired for the active lifestyle and will appeal to women of all ages. The models were hot to trot. Those girls and guys sizzled the runway rocking tantalizing denims, complemented by exhilarating colors and chic accessories. Deborah Williams brings the sass to urban sportswear.

I asked Deborah what inspired her to name her line, “Her Game 2â€?.  She so eloquently stated for Black Star News, “I have been a part of the NBA lifestyle for a long time.

Founded in 1996, Her Game 2 apparel has appeared on television shows such as, “The Parkers”, “The Today Show, “CBS Morning Show”, “Our Lives” and “WB11 Morning Show”.  Celebrities such as Alicia Keys, Theresa Weatherspoon and Wendy Williams have also helped Her Game 2 gain recognition in the fashion world by having designer pieces in their wardrobe.

2006 is a banner year for HG2 with the expansion of its company to include not only the apparel line but the outfitting of sports teams, the training and representation of male and female models and the production of fashion shows (such as the 2006 NBA Wives Association, “Behind the Bench” Gala in Houston, TX during the NBA’s All-Star weekend). With that, HG2 launches alongside its new collection, two operations — Talent Management and Productions.

Her Game 2 Talent Management will consist of the signing, training and the representation of models for commercial and runway opportunities.  Talent Management will also sign on professional athletes, artists and designers to represent in the commercial markets. Her Game 2 Productions fuses fashion and commercial events that showcase established as well as upstart designers in shows like the Circle of Sisters Expo in New York City,  the NBA All-Star Weekend Gala and turns out eye-popping fashion shows that titillates the audience.

Kim Dowdy, Executive Manager for the company has this to say about the new businesses, “I am thrilled to become a vital part of the Her Game 2 team. This is an exciting time for the company and I hope to become a factor in its phenomenal growth”.

“We have some of the tri-state’s most fabulous models joining our Talent Management Group.  We hope to provide top notch talent to corporations, the music industry, television and movies, and many other venues”, adds new manager Persina Lucas.

Her Game 2’s NBA licensed product is available at NBA arenas around the country.  The Her Game 2 Brand will be available at major retailers and specialty boutiques, beginning July 2006, and current inventory is available now on our website, www.hergame2.com.
