Tonight, Thursday, February 28th at 11:00 pm EST, Winning Strategies Minority Business Spotlight will shine on Renee Daniel Flagler - an award winning journalist, acclaimed author and Founder of the Self-Publishing Symposium, an annual business conference for self and independent publishers, held at the Schomburg Center for Research In Black Culture. Most recently, (on February 13th, 2008), Flagler won the award for Excellence in Journalism by the New York Association of Black Journalists (NYABJ) at Columbia University.
As a freelance writer and marketing professional, Flagler's writing has been featured in business and consumer newsletters and magazines, nationwide. In 2007, Flagler launched the Divas of Literature Tour, a multi-city mall tour featuring five authors.
Flagler and her books have been featured in Ebony Magazine, Black Issues Book Review, The Black Star News, Mahogany Baby, The Columbus Post, and The Amsterdam News. She was also profiled in Literary Divas, The Top 100+ Most Admired African American Women in Literature. Flagler has been featured in Ebony Magazine, The Black Star News, The New York Amsterdam News, Our Times, Caribbean Life Newspaper, The Columbus Post, and Mahogany Baby Magazine thus far. She was also awarded the Entrepreneur of the Year 2005 Award by C&B Books Distribution and the Entrepreneurial Legacy Award of Excellence by Disilgold Soul Magazine.
Flagler is a graduate of New School University with a Masters in Media Arts and St. John's University with a Bachelor of Science in Communications. She is a member of the National Black MBA Association, National Association of Female Executives and Publishers Marketing Association. Renee Daniel Flagler is one of the original members of The Phenomenal Women Group.
