“The World in One Ring” brings center stage a cast of international performers that mirror the cultural diversity of the world in which we live. This year audiences are invited to join “Auntie” better known as Maggie Shirley Lee Mae Frances Upshaw Jenkins (Patrice Lovely) and her hip nephew Lucky (Daniel “Lucky” Malatsi) as they attend the circus and have a loving but hilarious exchange that crosses musical, technological and generational boundaries. They discover they have more in common than they imagined.
Auntie, Lucky and audiences won’t be disappointed as once again the UniverSoul Circus has searched the globe and found talent from Africa to Latin America to China. Take for instance the lovely 21-year old “Foot Juggler” Haymanot Gurara from Ethiopia. She juggles tables and vases with her feet as if she were using her own hands.
