A new phase in the exploding sex scandal revolving around Governor Andrew Cuomo was confirmed Saturday when Albany County Sheriff Craig Apple held a press conference regarding the formal criminal complaint filed against Cuomo by “Executive Assistant #1”, so named in the bombshell report, by New York Attorney General Letitia James, that found the governor had sexually harassed, or, abused 11 women.

In a Saturday press conference, Sheriff Apple gave some details about “Executive Assistant #1” reaching out to his office to file a criminal complaint against Gov. Cuomo, who she accused of reaching under her blouse and groping her, inside the governor’s mansion in Albany, in November 2020.

“We have a lot of fact finding to do, we have a lot of interviews to do…I had a female victim come forward, which had to be the hardest thing she’s ever done in her life and make an allegation of criminal conduct against the governor,” Apple said.

Sheriff Apple told reporters his office’s investigation into the allegations are early. “I cannot get into the nature of her specific allegations, at this time obviously we are in the very infant stages of this investigation,” he said.

After Sheriff Apple’s press conference Attorney General James’ press secretary, Fabien Levy, stated that: “We will cooperate fully with the Albany sheriff and turn over all evidence related to this complainant. Similarly, we will cooperate with all law enforcement agencies, as appropriate.”

Friday, the Office of The Attorney General pushed back “after New York Governor Andrew Cuomo’s team attacked the credibility of the 11 women who came forward with allegations of sexual harassment against the governor, as well as the independence and credibility of the independent investigators.”

Press secretary, Fabien Levy said, “After multiple women made accusations that Governor Cuomo sexually harassed them, the governor, himself, requested that Attorney General James oversee an independent investigation. The independent investigators selected are widely respected professionals, recognized for their legal and investigatory ability. To attack this investigation and attempt to undermine and politicize this process takes away from the bravery displayed by these women.

“There will be a rolling production of interview transcripts made available to the state Assembly, which will be redacted as needed.

“There are 11 women whose accounts have been corroborated by a mountain of evidence. Any suggestion that attempts to undermine the credibility of these women or this investigation is unfortunate.”
