Noche Diaz

[Community Announcement]

In 2014 Noche Diaz was singled out, snatched from among protesters, and arrested by the NYPD near Times Square in the front of an August 14 protest march against the killing of Mike Brown and then on November 25 against the Ferguson grand jury decision to let Darren Wilson, the cop who killed Brown, walk.

In August, the DA charged Noche with 6 counts for which he could get a year at Rikers. In November, after cops threatened him with “going away for a long time,” the 5 more charges were added bringing another possible year — charges like unlawful assembly, disorderly conduct, and inciting to riot.

Noche is scheduled for trial Thursday Jan 29 on the August charges. He’s a revolutionary leader who is well known and respected among people of Harlem and the Bronx. Though he’s one of hundreds around the country who have been arrested while protesting the injustice of the Brown and Garner non-indictment decisions  from Ferguson, LA, Seattle, Arizona, to Atlanta — he may face more charges than any other protester.

Supporters will rally Thursday January 29, morning at 8:45 AM outside the Manhattan Criminal Court at 100 Centre Street.

The trial is set for 9:30 am in Part B –Check the board inside the security area for final location.

Hands Off Noche Diaz! Pack the Courtroom! Stop the Outrageous Persecution! Drop All the Charges!
