The fourth largest theatre on Broadway is opening its doors for the 3rd annual The Gathering UPHI, a multi-day affair of creativity, connectivity and celebration to set the mind and spirit free and “Reawaken Wonder.” 

 

The programming features notable musical artists and community leaders, such as  Reverend Al Sharpton, Valerie Boyd and Brenda Lee Eager, who have come together to share their individual gifts in an effort to uplift the community. United Palace House of Inspiration (UPHI), a center of universal spirituality located in Washington Heights, is hosting this event.

 

“When people gather through the power of song, spirituality and expression, there’s going to be healing and transformation,” said Boyd. “You won’t be the same after The Gathering UPHI.”

 
“It is the duty of the artist to uplift the consciousness of people,” added Eager.

Featuring acclaimed gospel artist Valerie Boyd, soul singer Brenda Lee Eager, Tim McAfee-Lewis and the UPHI Inspirational Choir.

Reverend Sharpton to receive the Amelia Boynton Robinson “Keeper of the Flame” Award for advancing the cause of human dignity through a lifetime of service to the community.

Service will commemorate UPHI’s 47th anniversary and celebrate the birthday of Reverend Sharpton and UPHI’s Overseer Annette Eikerenkoetter.

 

The United Palace is at 4140 Broadway at 175th Street, 1 block from the 175th Street A-train station.
