HILLARY CLINTON, CABINET SECRETARIES, MAYOR BILL DE BLASIO, LEADING PRESIDENTIAL CAMPAIGN STRATEGISTS HEADLINE DAY ONE OF NAN 25th ANNIVERSARY NATIONAL CONVENTION

Democratic Presidential Candidate Secretary Hillary Clinton, Secretary of Housing and Urban Development Julian Castro, Secretary of Labor Thomas Perez, and Mayor Bill de Blasio will headline the first day of the 25th annual National Action Network convention at the Sheraton Hotel (811 7th Avenue, New York, NY 10019) in New York.

First day highlights:

Reverend Al Sharpton, New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio, State Comptroller Thomas DiNapoli, City Council Speaker Melissa Mark Viverito, City Comptroller Scott Stringer, Public Advocate Letitia James, and other distinguished elected officials will kick-off the convention with a ribbon cutting ceremony at 9:30 a.m.

Immediately preceding Secretary Clinton’s address will be a 2016 election panel featuring John Podesta of the 2016 Hillary Clinton Presidential Campaign and Tad Devine, Senior Adviser, Bernie Sanders Presidential Campaign. Secretary Clinton’s special Plenary Address is scheduled for 12:00 p.m.

At 2:15 p.m., the First Lady of New York City Chirlane McCray will deliver remarks on mental health in the African-American community.

The rest of the day will include panels on the 2016 elections, civil rights and policing, mental health in the African-American community, and the important roles of women and youth in the civil rights movement.
