SIsters

Title: Walk to End Domestic Violence in East New York and Abroad
Date: Saturday, October 5, 2019
Time: 12:00pm
Place:  Dumont Avenue & Pennsylvania Avenue, Brooklyn

On Saturday, October 5, 2019 at 12:00 pm Sisters Building Sisters in Brooklyn, a 501c3 non-profit organization providing empowerment opportunities to women and girls in underserved communities, will be spearheading a “Walk to End Domestic Violence in East New York and Abroad.”

This action, in conjunction with a press conference is to call upon all New Yorkers, Non Profit Organizations, Elected Officials (in and out of our district and outside of district), Tenant Associates, Block Associates, Schools, Clergy persons, and Community folks.  In recognition of October as Domestic Violence Awareness month, we are coming together as a community, with one voice, to echo out throughout our community that Domestic Violence and violence of any kind is unacceptable and will not be tolerated.  1 in every 4 women and 1 in every 7 men has experienced some form of Domestic Violence; yet most cases are never reported.  As such, we must stand together in speaking out against this grave issue.
