Women’s History Celebration at Solas

The Phenomenal Women Group and Girlfriends Get-Together are teaming up with Social Butterfly Promotions, Sistahs in Unity, Renee Cook, Winning Strategies & Associates, TinaLee Media & Events, Blackprofessionalevents.com, The Kosher Soul Gourmet and Creative Expressions by CoCo to celebrate Women’s History Month at Solas in Greenwich Village.

The Phenomenal Women Group and Girlfriends Get-Together are teaming up with Social Butterfly Promotions, Sistahs in Unity, Renee Cook, Winning Strategies & Associates, TinaLee Media & Events, Blackprofessionalevents.com, The Kosher Soul Gourmet, and Creative Expressions by CoCo to celebrate Women’s History Month. 

Terrie Williams, Founder of The Stay Strong Foundation will be honored with the Phenomenal Woman of Valor award for her incredible work protecting, educating and providing positive alternatives to at-risk teens. 

Nettie Paisley, Chairperson for the Life & Ethics Committee of the Brooklyn Society for Ethical Culture will be honored with the Phenomenal Woman of Light award for her generous volunteerism working in support of P.S. 44, Brooklyn, under the Adopt-A-School program and her advocacy for peace and social justice.

Social Butterfly Promotions will facilitate a stepping class for our guests, which promises to be a lot of fun.

There will also be a special presentation highlighting some critically acclaimed historic events, including the 50th anniversary of the integration of Central High School in Little Rock, Arkansas, and the 30th anniversary of the National Women’s Conference in Houston, Texas.

All women are welcome and encouraged to come celebrate this exuberant celebration of womanhood.

The Stay Strong Foundation focuses on supporting young people by providing them with opportunities that will promote their personal, educational and professional development. The Stay Strong Foundation works to empower America’s 24 million youth through a series of special events designed to raise awareness of teen issues, encourage dialogue and issue a message of hope and inspiration. The Stay Strong Foundation also sets up internships, mentoring and shadowing programs, and provides educational resources for youth and youth organizations. 

The purpose of the Brooklyn Society for Ethical Culture is to bring out the best in the human spirit by promoting personal growth and social progress.  The goal is to encourage and support people who want to improve the quality of relationships in all aspects of their lives, including, but not limited to family, friendships, work, neighborhood, community, government, humanity and nature.  Advocating for the disempowered who are suffering from disrespect, injustice and unkindness is an integral part of the BSEC’s mission.  The BSEC strives to make a positive contribution to society by caring for people in crisis and by developing leaders to strengthen the mission.

The Phenomenal Women Group started as an online forum on Yahoo!  Since its inception in 2004, The Phenomenal Women Group has evolved into an online and offline community of predominantly for women of color which serves as a support group and a forum by which beautiful friendships and business alliances are formed. The Group, which consists of women ranging in age from 35 and up, also operates as a mentorship for younger women 21 to 25. The Phenomenal Women Group currently has 1,690 members nationwide, including Canada and abroad.  The theme for The Phenomenal Women Group’s 2007 National Women’s History Month celebration is, “Generations of Women Moving History Forward.”
