Leroy Comrie, candidate for Queens Borough President has hired star litigator Lawrence Mandelker as his campaign’s attorney.

Mandelker, with a reputation as an effective advisor, will guide the campaign on petitions and all legal matters and issues concerning ballot access. “I looking forward to working with Leroy on his campaign for Borough President,” says Mandelker. “He is competent, smart and his reputation precedes him when it comes to putting the people of Queens first. His ability to deliver real results for the residents of Queens is simply unmatched, and it is for those reasons, I will do everything to ensure his campaign and his path to victory runs smoothly.”

Mandelker, prominent in the field of government relations, has advised the presidential campaigns of Jimmy Carter, Gary Hart, Robert Dole and George W. Bush.  He has also counseled numerous candidates for public office, among them are Edward I. Koch, Rudolph Giuliani, Daniel Patrick Moynihan, Eric Schneiderman, Michael Bloomberg on election law and campaign finance issues.

In addition, Mandelker has been sought out to represent the New York Democratic and Republican parties and has also counseled the Working Families Party. “The campaign moves full steam ahead and we are prepared to win,” says Leroy Comrie.  “To have a fighter like Larry on our side proves that.”

Comrie serves as Deputy Majority Leader of the City Council and Chairman of its Queens Delegation. He was elected to represent the 27th Council District in Southeast Queens in 2001. He is currently the Chair of the Land Use Committee and is a member of key Council Committees including Finance, Rules, Privileges and Elections, Consumer Affairs, Housing and Buildings, Cultural Affairs/Libraries and the Zoning Sub-committee.

Election Day is on September 10, 2013.
