CSEA Local 1000 Taps Liu For Mayor

The Metropolitan Region of the Civil Service Employees Association (CSEA) Local 1000, AFSCME, AFL-CIO,  today endorsed John Liu for Mayor.

CSEA Local 1000 represents 300,000 state employees throughout New York State.  The Metropolitan Region represents over 16,000 active and retired employees in New York City.

"We are immensely proud to endorse John Liu for Mayor of New York City. Throughout his career in public service, Liu has always been a friend of organized labor and a champion of the working families of New York City,” said CSEA Metropolitan Region President Lester Crockett.  “He has been consistent and vocal in his support of fair contracts, safe working conditions, freedom to join unions and in his opposition to the privatization of jobs in the public sector."

"I am honored to receive the endorsement of the hardworking and politically active men and women of CSEA," said Comptroller Liu. "The dedicated members of CSEA have a long history of helping to set standards and improve the quality of life for all New Yorkers. With CSEA's well-oiled, grassroots operation, we will bring about the changes needed to get the City back on the right track."
