With two weeks to go until the special election in the 43rd Assembly District, New York City Comptroller Scott M. Stringer endorsed Diana Richardson, who is running on the Working Families Party line, from the steps of City Hall.

“I’m endorsing Diana Richardson because working families need a champion like her in Albany,” said Stringer. “Last year, I released a report that showed we’ve lost 400,000 units of affordable housing in the past decade. I know that Diana will fight to strengthen rent laws, close loopholes, protect tenants, and preserve affordable housing.”

“I’m particularly proud to accept the endorsement of a man who, as an Assembly member, voted against every law that would weaken rent stabilization,” Richardson said. “I’m pledging to do the same, so working families like mine won’t be pushed out of our neighborhoods by skyrocketing rents.”

Richardson is progressive Democrat running on the Working Families Party Line in the upcoming Special Election on May 5th to fill the vacant seat in the 43rd Assembly District that encompasses the neighborhoods of Crown Heights, East Flatbush, Wingate and Prospect-Lefferts Gardens.
