NY City Hall: Caribbean Heritage Month Celebration

Council Member Jumaane D. Williams (D-Brooklyn), Deputy Leader and Chair of the Council’s Housing and Buildings Committee, will co-host the Council’s 2015 Caribbean Heritage Celebration in the Chambers of City Hall to close out June’s Caribbean Heritage Month with the Council’s Speaker Melissa Mark-Viverito, Council Member Mathieu Eugene, and the Black Latino and Asian Caucus Co-Chairs Andy King and Rosie Mendez, on Tuesday, June 30.

The event, is open to the public and will honor representatives from various Caribbean Islands, including:

Dr. Una Clarke (Jamaica); Justice  Sylvia G. Ash (Trinidad); Raymond Luke (Tobago), Chairman Of Sesame Flyers International; Neva Shillingford-King (Dominica), Executive Vice President of 1199 SEIU, and; Yvonne Stennett (Jamaica), Executive Director of the Community League of West 159th Street.

Caribbean music, food and entertainment will be provided. Members of the public interested in attending the event must RSVP by Monday, June 29th by emailing [email protected] or calling 212-788-5613.
