Demonstrating popular support among voters in his district, Democrat John Liu’s campaign for State Senate has announced the filing of 7,537 petition signatures with the Board of Elections, gathered from registered Democratic voters residing within Senate District 11.

This number far surpasses the 1,000 signatures required to get on the ballot.

“I am honored to receive this outpouring of support from the women and men who represent every corner of this District,” said John Liu.  “This is yet another clear message from the voters to the Senate status quo that it’s time for a change.  The people of District 11 are ready for a leader that can get real results.  I am excited and energized by the early support I’ve received from my neighbors and from the many civic groups, community and local leaders who have wholeheartedly endorsed my campaign to bring effective leadership to Albany.”
