Continuing in its role of providing information to the African community, CEMOTAP will feature three seasoned activists at its May 24th forum that are guaranteed to provide information and analysis that will never appear in general market media.
Christine Quinn, City Council Speaker, hid a half $billion behind phony non existing projects in order to illegally reward her favorites projects or programs, usually run by folks who would support her to become the next mayor of New York City. When the scandal was exposed some council members demanded her resignation. After all, what she did was illegal and fraudulent. Councilman Charles Barron who will be joined by his wife Inez Barron at CEMOTAP’s May 24th 2:00P.M. forum is insistent that Christine Quinn resign. Barron will give a comprehensive update on the Quinn debacle as well as an update on his former Chief of staff, Viola Plummer’s law suit against Quinn.
Inez Barron, educator and activist, will review the platform that she has adopted in her bid for a New York State Assembly seat. Inez Barron has an exemplary record as an education expert and has well formed ideas for the New York State assembly’s role in improving educational outcomes for African American children.
Milton Allimadi, Publisher, The Black Star News and one of the trio of experts featured on “The GBE Experience," heard on Sundays on radio WLIB, will give his analysis of the Obama campaign. Allimadi, Cash Michaels and Herb Boyd have become the programs definitive commentators on national and international Black issues.
“Our community will receive vital information as well as the opportunity to hold discussions with our guest speakers,” said Betty Dopson, CEMOTAP co-chair. “We invite the community to participate with us in the event.”
