Cuff Zimmerman, Trayvon’s Killer

Robert Zimmerman supposedly sent a letter to a news station: "My son is not a racist. He is Hispanic." Duh!

The Sanford, Florida, police investigation is becoming more and more questionable each day. On February 26th, Trayvon Martin, 17, was murdered by George Zimmerman, 26, in the dark. The Sanford police department does not want to answer questions relating to the officers who responded to the crime scene.

Mr.  Zimmerman has made statements to the Sanford police post-Miranda. Now it is time to read Zimmerman his rights and let the legal process take its course:

“George Zimmerman, you are hereby under arrest for the murder of Trayvon Martin. You have the right to remain silent. Anything you say can and will be used against you in a court of law. You have the right to an attorney. If you cannot afford an attorney, one will be provided for you. Do you understand the rights I have just read to you? With these rights in mind, do you wish to speak to me?”

There should be some light beamed on the way this case was handled from the beginning.  The 911 tapes clearly tell the story and calls loudly for justice.

The actions of the Sanford police need to be looked at carefully.  Witnesses who saw Zimmerman on top of Trayvon did not mention seeing Zimmerman with any blood on his face or blood coming from his nose.  So when did Zimmerman get his injuries and did they come after he fired his gun?

We know that seconds before his death Trayvon was talking to his girlfriend about a guy following him – and then the call was lost.  The Sanford police did not use Trayvon’s cell phone to contact anyone, family member or friend – instead, the Sanford police tagged his lifeless body and listed him as, “John Doe.”

Indeed; victims such as Trayvon are all “John Does” it seems. The next day Trayvon’s father would list him as a missing person and he did not learn of his son’s death until he called 911 and the Sanford police made a visit to his home.

The case involving Trayvon Martin’s murder does not look like poor police work any more.  It’s beginning to look like a police cover-up and a serious case of obstruction of justice in the worst way.

Robert Zimmerman, the shooter’s father, supposedly sent a letter to a news station declaring: “My son is not a racist.  He is Hispanic.”  Duh! Then he goes on to defend his son: “At no time did George follow or confront Mr. Martin.”  His father did not listen to the 911 tapes, or he’s blocked his son’s words out. He sounds like Police Chief Bill Lee, Jr. who should resign in the interest of law. 

The Sanford police made themselves a liability to the town of Sanford when they failed to make an arrest in the Trayvon Martin case. My calls to the Sanford firearms Division were not returned before publication time.
 
The FBI and the Department of Justice are now looking into the death of Trayvon Martin. By the time this article is printed on our hard copy version, George Zimmerman should be in jail.
