Open Season?

George Zimmerman, the killer of Trayvon Martin was granted bail by Circuit Judge Kenneth Lester Jr. today and in the process he may have also offered information that could lead to his conviction when he admitted he didn’t know whether his victim was armed or not.

The judge set bail at $150,000 and ordered that he wear an electronic monitoring device. It was a self-serving proceeding for Zimmerman. His father, Robert, a retired judge, also got to call in and to comment about his son, who reportedly had a “battery on law enforcement officer” in 2005 charge: “I’ve never known him to be violent at all, unless he was provoked, and then he would turn the other cheek.”

But the critical comments came from the killer himself. “I wanted to say I am sorry for the loss of your son,” said Zimmerman, Reuters reported. “I did not know how old he was. I thought he was a little bit younger than I am. And I did not know if he was armed or not.”

The last sentence is key.

The Black Star News  pointed out in an earlier editorial that Zimmerman could not have known whether Martin, 17 years old, was armed or not. Since Zimmerman had already called police and reported that Martin seemed to be suspicious — he was Black; looked like he was on drugs; he was wearing a hoodie; had his hands on his waist; and they, the coons, “always got away– it’s not credible that Zimmerman would have approached a person whom he thought to have been so dangerous without his own weapon already drawn.

Zimmerman defied the dispatcher’s order not to follow Trayvon Martin because he knew that at the end of the day he would walk away alive; provided he fired first. Under what other circumstance would anyone pursue a “suspicious” and “dangerous” looking person?

Zimmerman racially profiled Martin and then followed him and killed him. Not in self defense but because this time he wanted to make sure “they didn’t get away.”

His apologies today have no meaning and came on the suggestion of his lawyer. Zimmerman is the same man who a few days ago was trying to solicit money from White supremacists through his website.

Keep talking George.
