Re: Article in The New York Times about Tax cuts:
Dear Mr. Leonhardt,
Regarding your informative though, sadly, not surprising article, ‘In Tax Cuts, theOptions Run Short,’ I place the blame for the tax-cut debate cul-de-sac in which the Congressional Democrats find themselves squarely on the 44th POTUS’ shoulders.
I watched him squander great popularity (which existed over the first 4-5 months of his presidency) and, as a result, his bully pulpit, to his neurotic need to be liked by those who hated/hate him most. At the same time and since, he has been more disdainful than not of the Democratic Party base — without which his presidential campaign would have foundered early on.
I say let ALL of the tax cuts expire; easier for me to say, I know, than those for whom any tax cut is desperately needed.
Still, know this: this email comes from an infuriated, not ‘mad,’ Black Woman. I leave madness to dogs and Englishmen–and, to perhaps, also this President.
Sincerely,
Linda A. Rock, M.D.
