Racist Demagogue Rick Santorum Can’t Be A Christian

Ironically, Santorum would have actually excelled in fascist Italy and Nazi Germany with his type of politics of demonization. He’s compared Obama to Mussolini and Hitler and deplored his "phony theology" a clear reference to the slur that Obama is a secret Muslim

Rise And Eventual Fall of Santorum

Rick Santorum is un-electable as President of the United States. Yet he’s doing a great job at poisoning race relations in this country.

Santorum is a racist, a racial arsonist and Islamophob judging by his own statements. He is willing to burn down the house in his campaign for the presidency. He has been making some of the most insane and incendiary statements.

He appeals to the most ugly instincts out there and must be treated by responsible media like the rascal and hate-monger that he is.

For several days Santorum had been denying that he had questioned President Obama’s faith when he claimed the president followed a “phony theology” that was “not a theology based on the bible. A different theology.”

He then went on television to deny that he was insinuating that President Obama was a closet Muslim; this is what many of the president’s critics on the lunatic fringe, and many Republicans and Tea-Partyists believe.

Santorum claimed he was referring to the president’s support of “radical environmentalists.” Well his lies were exposed today when Santorum’s spokesperson, Alice Stewart , appeared on Andrea Mitchell’s show “Andrea Mitchell Reports” on MSNBC. She also parroted the Santorum lie that the Republican candidate had been referring to President Obama’s support of “radical environmentalists.” She went on and on but at some point it finally slipped out: She said Santorum criticized Obama  “in terms of the radical Islamic policy that the president has.”

Stewart later called Mitchell –who had not heard the comment during Stewart’s live appearance– to claim that she had “mi-spoke.” Well, if she mi-spoke, why not mi-speak about the president’s “radical Christian” or even “radical socialist” policy?

The truth has a way of rearing it’s beautiful head.

Islam is one of the world’s great religions; but Santorum knows there is a broad spectrum of the electorate that views the religion with suspicion and erroneously equates many of its followers with terrorism–Santorum is appealing to them.

Santorum has been on a path of no return. He compared President Barack Obama to Mussolini after the Iowa Republican Primary election when he said his grandfather had fled to the United States when fascism loomed over Italy. He said Obama was now creating a political environment comparable to the one his grandfather had fled from.

Santorum wasn’t adequately taken to task for his insane comments by the corporate media, except by the Rev. Al Sharpton on his MSNBC “PoliticsNation” show.

Just this weekend, while mobilizing his supporters, Santorum compared President Obama to Hitler. He said in the beginning of World War II, the United States stood by and ignored the gathering storm in Europe. The U.S. should not make the same mistake, Santorum warned.

Ironically, Santorum would have actually excelled in fascist Italy and Nazi Germany with his type of politics of demonization.

Weeks ago Santorum  had claimed that he did not want to make the lives of Black people better by taking wealth from White people. He is an expert in fostering race-hatred and resentment; he ignores data that shows that a significantly higher percentage of White people are dependent on welfare when compared to African Americans.

But facts don’t matter to Santorum.

He reminds us of the racist redneck politicians of the 1960s, like Governor George Wallace, who thought they could derail the Civil Rights Movement by standing in front of a door and blocking young African American students from entering colleges.

Santorum will never get elected president of the United States. He can however cause significant damage to race and religious relations with his ugly campaign.

His utterances are beyond incitement; we even wonder whether he is sending coded messages to some lunatic out there. We all recall the extremely hateful language by politicians such as Sarah Palin in the months before Rep. Gabrielle Giffords was shot.

Santorum claims to be a Christian. His recent sermons have been the exact opposite of what Christianity teaches. His words have been devilish and harmful.

“Speaking Truth To Empower.”
