On January 4, 2005, Congressman John Conyers Jr., of Detroit, Michigan, introduced H.R. 40 to the new 109th Congress, as he has done every year. I urge all of you to contact your Congressperson to urge them to sign on to the bill as a co-sponsor–particularly the new members of the Congressional Black Caucus, Rev. Emanuel Cleaver of Kansas City, Missouri; Ms. Gwendolyn Moore of Madison, Wisconsin; Atty. Al Green of Houston Texas; Ms. Cynthia McKinney of Atlanta, Georgia. Start now contacting the only Black Senator Barak Obama to urge him to introduce a companion bill in the Senate. Contact all of them by phone, by FAX, or by e-mail ASAP.
