It didn’t take long before things jumped off to a rocking start, one particular night recently during Black history month.  Renee Neufville, an original member of the sensational platinum R&B Duo ZHANE pumped up the crowd with energizing music and an impressive solo on the piano. Leisa Johnson, a native of Cleveland, had the audience applauding incessantly at her display of soul stirring vocals, style and grace reminiscent of the big band era. Peter Hadar, an independent soul artist known for his indie hit Need Love on the While U Wait compilation album left the audience hungry for more melodies and lyrical freestyle tactics.

Noteworthy is the entertainment prowess of the master of ceremony, Eric Roberson. In between acts, this multi-talented performer crooned ballads for the ladies, expressed comical thoughts in hip-hop, and had the audience rolling with his “Anti any and everythingâ€? humor.  Displaying remarkable class in keeping everyone delighted, he brought the audience to a moment of silence and paid homage to J. Dilla, an outstanding producer who recently passed on.

On the scene, and integral in attracting a very appreciative audience to the venue is the very dynamic Christina Spann.  An auditor for Vornado Realty Trust and publicist for Peter Hadar, she is making a difference in the music industry by addressing the lack of soul in commercial music. Thus far, she has been successful in attaining her goals through a grassroots and independent soul publicity movement.  Wielding a database of conscious and trendy students and professionals in the 21 – 45 age brackets, Christina is looking to extend her affiliations with sponsors and organizations that see a strategic benefit in supporting Peter Hadar during his 2006 musical tour.

Christina is preoccupied with putting the final touches on Peter Hadar’s album which will be coming out soon.  Peter Hadar has worked with Carl Thomas, Eric Roberson and Joe.  Visit www.peterhadar.com to listen to some tracks and find out about upcoming events. To book the artist, or find out more about the artist contact the publicist [email protected].

Christina has previously worked with Collegiate Women of Color, North Manhattan Alumnae Chapter and the Xi Gamma Chapter (Hofstra University) of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc. to coordinate numerous events and presentations. Peter Hadar’s show in November 2005 at the Chocolate Bar in Brooklyn was coordinated in conjunction with host Russell Taylor.
