Up Ye Mighty Nation

How much more do we have to take? People are rioting in France and Australia because of racism, where is the outcry from us? So tomorrow we will fight for Justice with everything we have. We will protest FEMA and this Government and continue to demand justice for Katrina Survivors. If ever we needed to protest, now is the time, I look forward to seeing you all tomorrow outside of FEMA.

My Brothers and Sisters in the Movement. All is not well with my soul this day; I am terribly saddened by the legal lynching this morning of Stanley “Tookie Williams, and may the Almighty rest his soul, and give peace to his family.

But since the system has acted, it is now time for us to act. I want to thank our elders from all over the country who joined us in this fight to save Tookie, especially Brother Gordon from the NAACP and Rev. Jesse Jackson from Rainbow Push.

But enough is enough, this racist system must go. FREEDOM FOR EVRYBODY OR FREEDOM FOR NOBODY! This  past year, just like in 1955, when a Black man was lynched, churches burnt, Emmett Till killed, and even Black Teachers were barred from getting their teaching licenses if they were in the NAACP,  they have showed us how they feel about the Black, Brown and Poor people of this country.

This year the world has watched, as they put a five-year old girl in handcuffs in Florida, watched our people die during Hurricane Katrina, and now they have watched as they legally lynched Tookie Williams.

How much more do we have to take? People are rioting in France and Australia because of racism, where is the outcry from us? So tomorrow we will fight for Justice with everything we have. We will protest FEMA and this Government and continue to demand justice for Katrina Survivors. Protesters will gather at L’ENFANT PLAZA METRO STATION at 10:000 a.m. and head to FEMA – 500 C Street S.W. Washington, D.C. 20472.  If ever we needed to protest, now is the time, I look forward to seeing you all tomorrow outside of FEMA.
