Whitney Houston Remembered …

Now, finally, Whitney may know the peace that may have eluded her over the last few years. She meets Etta James, Michael Jackson, and all the other legends of music. What a glorious scene.

My reflections when I heard about the death of Whitney Houston was that: life is a huge challenge often, when you always have to meet others’ expectations and that becomes the measure of your own self evaluation and validation.

When you’re not able to walk away from it all and say “I’m going to go away for a while.” I’m going to relax on the beach in the Bahamas or South Africa and just go beneath the radar for a couple of years–enjoy my own time away from it all.

Now, finally, Whitney may know the peace that eluded her over the last few years.  She will meet the recently departed Etta James and the not-so-long-ago departed Michael Jackson, and all the other legends of music. What a glorious scene.

A void is left in the music world and in the hearts of millions of people, today and tonight, with the untimely death of Whitney Houston.  Whitney burst onto the music scene in the 1980s with the hit single “Saving All My Love for You” and became the first artist ever to have seven consecutive singles hit number one.

Her status as an extraordinary songstress with a unique melodic voice will shine forever.  Whitney will be missed.  Our condolences to Whitney’s family and many friends.

She was the Queen of Pop.  Now the Queen and King, Michael Jackson, are gone and singing duets in heaven!! Whitney Houston’s smile was as big as her voice. Tears flow from every corner of the earth on her passing.

Someone asked me if I liked Whitney. OFCOURSE I liked Whitney. I grew up on Whitney. I remember Sunday mornings dancing to her vids. I tried to emulate her voice. She taught me to sing. My favorite song by her is “Why Does It Hurt So Bad?” How fitting…
