Why Valentine’s Day Is Good For Singles

Develop a Relationship With Yourself: Know that your relationship status doesn’t define your happiness. Happiness is an inside job so seek to find out more about yourself and do things you enjoy and DISCOVER what makes you happy.

[The Relationship Guru]

VD can actually be a blessing in disguise for single people. Think about it:  If you’re single, you don’t have to worry about giving your partner anything so you have less to worry about altogether.

That’s right… I said it… VD (aka Valentine’s Day) can be awesome for single people!  We’re coming up on one of the holidays that Singles usually dread the most: Valentine’s Day!  If you are single, I going to tell you how Valentine’s Day can be one of the most empowering days of the year.

Now I do realize how this can be a difficult time for Singles. With all the flowers, heart-shaped candy and happy couples everywhere, it can be a constant reminder that you don’t have someone special in your life. But this year we’re going to celebrate and enjoy Valentine’s Day even if we’re single.

If You’re Single, Consider This:
It’s important to learn to be happy while you’re single.  Single people are beginning to realize that they actually have a lot of time to create a meaningful life for themselves, and they are deciding to pursue their dreams. What are you really passionate about, and what do you enjoy doing?  Do you have a rich social life with great friends and loving family members?  Being single is the best time to discover what you want out of life and to focus on creating the life you’ve always dreamed of!  Maximize your career, interests, hobbies and relationships while you’re single, and make that time the best days of your life.

If you are unhappily single, it will be important to change that so you can get the most out of your single days.  I strongly believe that everyone must first learn to be happy without a mate.  I know that if my life isn’t already fulfilled when I meet a man, than neither he nor marriage can make me happy or fulfilled.  Nothing outside of YOU can produce long-lasting satisfaction and happiness—no mate, money, job, house or car can produce true fulfillment in life.

5 Tips for Singles on Valentine’s Day!
Pamper Yourself:  Treat yourself to a spa treatment, massage or luxurious bath.  Sometimes just reading a good book or watching a movie marathon can be very relaxing.

Re-Connect with Family and Friends: Think of 2-3 people that you keep saying you’re going to call but haven’t had the time to do so. It could be a parent, aunt/uncle, cousin, old college friend but call them…that familiar voice will be very happy to hear from you.

Have a Singles Valentine’s Day Party:  Get other singles together and have a party or go out on the town on Valentine’s Day.   One idea for a Singles party is where you and about 4-5 of your single friends all invite 3-4 of their single friends and you end up with a group of about 20-25 single people at a party and everyone is a “friend of a friend.”

Develop a Relationship With Yourself: Know that your relationship status doesn’t define your happiness.  Happiness is an inside job so seek to find out more about yourself and do things you enjoy and DISCOVER what makes you happy.
Give to Community or Charity:  Spread some love to others this Valentine’s Day by doing some charity work or volunteering at shelters for women and children.  This allows you give love into the lives of others and after all, isn’t Valentine’s Day about celebrating love!

Being single and alone can be a wonderful experience.  It’s the perfect time for adventure, fun, romance, self-discovery and renewal.  Before you get into a relationship, learn to be happy alone.  Work on your personal happiness and enjoying the wonderful friends and family in your life.
