NEW ORLEANS – The HBCU All-Star Game, taking place on April 3rd during Final Four weekend in New Orleans at the UNO Lakefront Arena and broadcasting live on CBS at 4 p.m. ET, has announced Aflac as the official sponsor of the inaugural game.

With a mission to advocate, educate, expose, mentor and invest in HBCU student-athletes and coaches across the country, the event aims to showcase the best in Black college basketball.

Launched by HBCU All-Stars LLC, a Black-owned sports marketing and events company, the HBCU All-Star Game brings much needed exposure, visibility and recognition to outstanding, talented and hardworking HBCU student-athletes and coaches.

“We are proud to partner with a company such as Aflac and their commitment to elevating the brand of these student-athletes and their institutions,” said HBCU All-Stars LLC Founder and CEO Travis L. Williams. “Having partners like Aflac believe in our vision only furthers our mission and fuels the confidence in our players.”

The game shines a bright spotlight on the rich legacy of HBCU basketball and the role these colleges and universities play in the lives of so many promising students. Aflac’s HBCU All-Star Game sponsorship extends its 20-plus year legacy of supporting HBCUs on and off the field and is a natural extension of the company’s long-standing commitment to fairness, diversity and inclusion, which are hallmarks of the company’s award-winning corporate responsibility and environmental, social and governance programs.

“HBCUs represent and produce some of the best talent in the world. We are proud to highlight Aflac’s long-standing commitment and extend our support of historically Black colleges and universities, as well as their rich legacy of excellence on and off the court,” said Aflac Chief Brand and Marketing Officer Shannon Watkins. “As an official sponsor of the inaugural HBCU All-Star Basketball Game, we are reminding fans to expect the unexpected and be better prepared with Aflac. We’re helping to close the gap between where health insurance ends and medical bills begin to pile up.”
